A second new key visual has been unveiled for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of 9-nine- Ruler’s Crown. The series is scheduled to broadcast in Japan sometime in July 2025. There will also be an advance screening of the first two episodes on June 15, 2025 at Parthenon Tama in Tokyo.
The new visual showcases the four main heroines and the main male protagonist of the series.
Koichi Ohata (Maken-ki!, Saiyuki Reload -burial-) is directing the anime series, with Saori Sakiguchi (Technoroid: Overmind) as character designer, Fumiyuki Uehara (VAZZROCK THE ANIMATION co-chief animation director) as co-character designer, and Kosuke Kuremizu as series screenwriter. PRA is handling the animation production.
Meanwhile, the main voice cast (who are reprising their roles from the visual novel’s all-ages version) stars:

9-nine- Ruler’s Crown is inspired by the 9-nine- visual novel series from developer Palette, which began in April 2017. The all-ages version of the game was released for Windows in Japan in 2021, and later for PS4 and Nintendo Switch in 2022. A spinoff to the main visual novel series will be released in Japan later this year.
A manga adaptation by Izumi Kawachi was launched on Futabasha’s Gaugau Monster website on October 22, 2021.
Sekai Project has released four episodes of the 9-nine visual novel on Steam with English support, starting in 2019. Steam describes the premise of 9-nine-: Episode 1 as:
9-nine- Episode 1 is the first volume in a series of supernatural mystery games, with Episode 1 telling a story centered around Miyako Kujo. The entries in the the 9-nine- series share the same setting and world, but each entry focuses on a different heroine. 9-nine- is a tale of the town of Shiromitsugawa, host to mysterious Artifacts and the superpowers they bestow on their Users. A tale of growing trust and budding romance between the protagonist and the heroine, and also a murder mystery where they hunt down the culprit behind a series of supernatural murders. Each game has an independent story that can be enjoyed on its own. We hope you enjoy the experience that is the 9-nine- series.
