The currently airing Umamusume: Cinderella Gray anime, which is halfway through its first cour, has received a new character trailer and visual.
The trailer highlights the horse girls who will feature in the upcoming “Chuo Hennyuu” arc, which takes the action from the prologue arc’s Kasamatsu to the Chuo level of racing.
Umamusume: Cinderella Gray is based on the manga drawn by Taiyo Kuzumi with Masafumi Sugiura (Umamusume S1 co-series composer) as scriptwriter and Junnosuke Ito (S1 producer) as planning composer. Amazon Prime Video describes the anime as:
Umamusume are racers who inherit the names and spirits of legendary racehorses from another world. Among them is Oguri Cap, a countryside-born Umamusume with an insatiable appetite! Unbeknownst to those around her, the potential of this ashen-haired “Beast” will soon propel her to the national stage and lead her down a legendary path. Follow her journey in this hot-blooded Cinderella story!
Umamusume: Cinderella Gray is part of the Umamusume: Pretty Derby media mix franchise created by Cygames, which includes a mobile game that will be released in English on June 26. The previous anime include a 2018 P.A.Works-produced TV anime series, its 2021 second season (produced by Studio KAI with assistance from P.A.Works), and the 2023 Studio KAI-produced third season.
There is also the web anime Umamusume: Pretty Derby — Road to the Top, which was streamed on the Pakatube YouTube channel, and the Umamusume: Pretty Derby — Beginning of a New Era anime movie. Both were produced by CygamesPictures.
The Umamusume: Cinderella Gray manga has been serialized since 2020 in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump and has 18 tankoubon volumes as of March 2025. The anime will have two split cours.
