A Gatherer’s Adventure in Isekai is based on the AlphaPolis-published light novel series written by Masuo Kinoko, which started in 2017 and has 16 volumes as of March 2025. The premise is described as:

Takeru Kamishiro is a normal guy with an ordinary office job but finds himself summoned to another world. Takeru starts his new life in “Madeus”, a world with swords and magic, fully equipped with multiple skills! Not only does he have enhanced physical and amazing magic abilities, but also the power to “search” for valuable items. With the cheat skills he’s been provided, Takeru starts his new adventure in the new isekai!!

Susumu Kuroi is the current illustrator of the light novels. The previous illustrators include Senbon Umishima and Katsuki Onda

The series received the Grand Prize and Reader’s Choice Award at the 9th AlphaPolis Fantasy Novel Awards and has inspired a manga, which is available in English on Alpha Manga.
