The 9-nine- Ruler’s Crown anime has received a trailer, along with the reveal of its July 2025 premiere window.
It was also announced that the ending song is “Pale Blaze” by Chihiro Yonekura, and that there will be an advance screening of the first two episodes on June 15 JST at Parthenon Tama. Additionally, more staff credits were revealed, including Fumiyuki Uehara (VAZZROCK THE ANIMATION co-chief animation director) as co-character designer.
9-nine- Ruler’s Crown is inspired by the PALETTE-developed visual novel series 9-nine-, which began in 2017. The episodes started releasing on Steam with English support in 2019. Steam describes 9-nine-: Episode 1 as:
9-nine- Episode 1 is the first volume in a series of supernatural mystery games, with Episode 1 telling a story centered around Miyako Kujo. The entries in the the 9-nine- series share the same setting and world, but each entry focuses on a different heroine. 9-nine- is a tale of the town of Shiromitsugawa, host to mysterious Artifacts and the superpowers they bestow on their Users. A tale of growing trust and budding romance between the protagonist and the heroine, and also a murder mystery where they hunt down the culprit behind a series of supernatural murders. Each game has an independent story that can be enjoyed on its own. We hope you enjoy the experience that is the 9-nine- series.
The game’s all-ages version was released for Windows in Japan in 2021, and later for PS4 and Nintendo Switch in 2022. The anime shares its main cast with this version.
