US-based VTuber agency VShojo has announced that one of their talents, Matara Kan, is exiting the agency on May 5. Following that, she will be continuing her VTubing journey independently, maintaining her persona as Matara Kan.
“We’re genuinely grateful for everything she’s brought to VShojo and wish her the best moving forward. Goodbyes are never easy, and we understand many of you deeply care about Matara, as we do,” shared the agency in its statement.
“The best way to support us both right now is with kindness, understanding, and respect for everyone’s feelings and privacy during this transition.”
Matara Kan has thanked the remaining talents at VShojo, emphasizing the wonderful moments they shared together in the 18 months she spent with the agency.
“I wish the remaining talent in VShojo the best of luck in their activities, I love them very much and I will carry on being their bug Auntie,” shared Matara via her X (Twitter) account.
Matara Kan debuted on October 15, 2023, and has since then garnered over 200,000 followers each on Twitch and X (Twitter). She also signed a deal as a talent under WME Agency in October 2024, the first VTuber to sign for the talent agency, whose clients included various A-list celebrities as well as other influential figures in sports, music, and politics.
VShojo is one of the early US-based VTuber agencies, whose current talent roster is now composed of talents Zentreya, Ironmouse, Projekt Melody, Apricot, Hime Hajime, Kson, Haruka Karibu, Henya the Genius, GEEGA, Kuro Kurenai, Michi Mochievee, Akatsuki Hotaru, Hestia Happiness, Yutori Peke, Okamoto Nagi, and most recently AmaLee.
