A 30th anniversary visual for Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, featuring Heero Yuy and Relena Darlian in fancy formal outfits, has been released.
The visual is just one part of the 1995 anime series’ 30th anniversary plans, which include a special website and the arrival of Wing Gundam Zero to Mobile Suit Gundam BATTLE OPERATION 2‘s Steam version.

Diehard fans of the anime can look forward to the “Mobile Suit Gundam W & Endless Waltz” 30th Anniversary Official Book Operation 30th, a three-volume A4-sized collection that includes the full storyboards for TV series’ first episode and “‘Endless Waltz Special Edition,'” two round-table talks with the cast, setting materials, and staff interviews. The anime’s co-mechanical designer Junya Ishigaki contributed a new illustration that will serve as the box illustration. The product will have its Japanese release on December 12 JST.
Another physical initiative is a collaboration with Animate Cafe, which will feature “character-inspired drinks” and exclusive original merchandise. The collaboration will run from April 1 JST to April 21 JST.
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing will also be part of the Gundam GWX 30th Anniversary Project Fair (G for Mobile Fighter G Gundam, X for After War Gundam X) at Animate. This event will be held from April 12 JST to May 11 JST.
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing had 49 episodes and is one of the alternate universe Gundam entries. Its story continued with the 1997 three-part OVA Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Endless Waltz. Crunchyroll describes the TV series as:
The Revolution Has Begun! Mankind has moved into space. Thousands of people live on giant orbiting space colonies called “Sides.” However, the Earth Government, which rules the colonies, is unjust and cruel. A group of revolutionaires builds five robotic weapons called Gundams and plans to send them to Earth to begin their fight for independence. Piloted by five young men, these Gundams carry the hopes and dreams of freedom of the colonists with them as they descend to Earth to begin Operation Meteor!
The series had series composition by Katsuyuki Sumizawa (Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon) and character designs by Shuko Murase (Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway director). It was initially directed by Masashi Ikeda (Takane no Jitensha, Wistoria: Wand and Sword opening storyboard artist et al.), with Shinji Takamatsu (RobiHachi) taking over as director partway through the troubled production. Yasunao Aoki (Yakitate!! Japan) directed Endless Waltz.
