The official website and Twitter/X account for the shojo romance TV anime series Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You has announced that a second season is in production. The announcement was made shortly after the broadcast of the anime’s 12th and final episode in Japan on March 28, 2025. The series first aired on January 10, 2025.
A special illustration drawn by original series creator Haruka Mitsui was unveiled, which features the five main characters.
An announcement trailer for the second season was also released, compiling scenes from the first season up to the season finale.
Junichi Yamamoto (Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion, More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers) is directing the anime series, with Yu Murai (Haigakura series screenwriter) and Nagisa Nario (Dahlia in Bloom co-scriptwriter) as series screenwriters and scriptwriters, and Vaio Shii (In/Spectre Season 2 ending animation director and key animator) as character designer. Typhoon Graphics is in charge of the animation production.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes:

The anime adaptation is based on the manga series by Mitsui, which began serialization in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi on November 2, 2020 and has released nine tankobon volumes as of August 2024. Kodansha USA releases the manga in English, first as a digital title in 2021 and in print just last year.
Crunchyroll is streaming the first season of Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You worldwide, outside of Japan. It describes the main synopsis as:
It’s July 1, 2020. Mizuha, a high school second-year, is having the worst seventeenth birthday ever. She’s missing her chance to get close to the older student she admires, and her parents didn’t even remember that it’s her birthday. Worst of all, there’s a new and unknown infectious disease making the rounds, so all her club tournaments and school trips have been canceled.
She’s convinced that she’ll never have the dazzling youth that she’s always dreamed of… but then her childhood friend, Kizuki, suddenly declares himself a candidate to be her boyfriend.
This is a school youth story about four childhood friends who grew up like family, one being the heroine, Nishino Mizuha, and the four boys she grew up with whom she sees as family.
