The STUDIO4℃-produced Future Kid Takara anime will have its world premiere on September 25 JST at the Osaka-held Expo 2025.
The screening will take place from 3 PM JST TO 4:30 PM JST at the EXPO Hall (also known as Shine Hat).
In addition to this announcement, Future Kid Takara received a teaser trailer and visual and some other new information:
• It is now a short-form series with 11 episodes instead of a movie
• Yuki Kaji is voicing the titular Takara
• Honoka Yoshida is voicing main heroine Sara
As the trailer shows, there will also be some live-action footage in the educational, global warming-themed series.
Future Kid Takara was announced in 2023. It had a Kickstarter campaign that year to produce a roughly 15-second pilot clip and to set up “a STUDIO4℃ fan community to share the film’s progress with fans.” The Kickstarter page includes the following description:
Future Kid Takara will be an action-packed, family-oriented film set in a dystopian future. The adventure story will feature a girl named Sara who is time warped into the year 2100, where she and the protagonist Takara try to navigate a world ravaged by the effects of global warming. (Title and story subject to change)
The project raised 3,323,185 yen (~US$22,000) with the Kickstarter.
Beyond Future Kid Takara, other upcoming STUDIO4℃ productions include the original movie ChaO and a film adaptation of All You Need Is Kill.
