Uglymug, Epicfighter Reveals New Trailer, Main Staff & July 2025 Debut featured image

A new PV trailer has been revealed for the upcoming Uglymug, Epicfighter TV anime series, detailing the main production staff and July 2025 debut. The trailer previews the main character Shigeru and his encounters with Seika, Seiji, and Leeds. 

Toshiyuki ‌Sone is directing the anime adaptation, with Kenta ‌Ihara (Ishura, I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss) as series screenwriter and Miki ‌Matsumoto (Angels of Death character designer) as character designer. White Fox is handling the animation production for the series. 

Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast stars: 

  • • Junichi Suwabe as Shigeru Yoshioka
  • • Konomi ‌Inagaki as Seika
  • • Kento ‌Shiraishi as Seiji
  • • Maaya ‌Uchida as Leeds

The series was first published on February 19, 2015 as a Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel written by Ryo Hiromatsu and ended on October 15, 2022. It was then turned into a manga series, with new art by Osamu Kozuki, that launched in Square Enix’s Monthly Big Gangan magazine on November 25, 2017 and concluded on December 25, 2020. Six total volumes were released. 

A manga sequel titled Busamen Gachi Fighter SSS began serialization in the same magazine on December 25, 2024.  

A single physical light novel volume was also published under the Kobunsha Light Books label, with illustrations by Akira Banpai.

MangaUp! releases the Uglymug, Epicfighter manga in English, describing the main synopsis as:

His looks are -255, touching girls causes him pain, and sexual acts will literally tear him apart. Just what can our ex-salesman Shigeru get in the other world in exchange for such inconveniences…? This is an epic tale of one very ugly, but ridiculously strong man!
