A teaser trailer and visual for the CG sci-fi anime Milky☆Subway: The Galactic Limited Express have been released, accompanied by the announcement of the show’s July 2025 broadcast and streaming premiere. It will be available on YouTube.

Milky☆Subway: The Galactic Limited Express is the follow-up to director Yohei Kameyama‘s 2022 short Milky☆Highway, which was also their graduation project. A short sneak peek of the new anime was released last December, but its title was still unknown at the time.

For this new installment, the main characters Chiharu (a “super human”) and Makina (a cyborg) are being voiced by Momoka Terasawa and Anna Nagase, respectively.

On top of directing, Kameyama is also responsible for the script, character designs, and overall production.

Milky☆Highway is available on YouTube and is also set to be screened at the Bandai Namco Group booth at this weekend’s AnimeJapan 2025. Its premise is described as:

In the galaxy far far far away, there is an interplanetary road called Milky☆Highway. To kill time during a weekend, Makina the cyborg and Chiharu the super human decide to go for a drive. Wherever those troublesome friends drive, there is always a danger! Not smart, not tear-jerking, not touching. The only two words that can describe this discount cyberpunk story is Speedy and Unprecedented!!
