A new PV trailer has been released for the upcoming Araiguma Calcal-dan anime series, highlighting the main theme song. The anime begins broadcasting in Japan on April 3, 2025 and each episode will run in a 2-minute time slot.
The main theme song previewed in the trailer is “Karugaru Everyday!!” by Japanese metalcore band HANABIE.
Araiguma Calcal-dan is a spinoff series based on the 1977 Araiguma Rascal anime series (also known in English as Rascal the Raccoon) and franchise, which was inspired by American writer Thomas Sterling North’s 1963 autobiographical children’s novel Rascal. The 1977 anime aired as part of Nippon Animation’s World Masterpiece Theater and contained 52 total episodes.
Henry Hirakawa is directing the spinoff anime, with Ayano Yoshioka (Let’s Make a Mug Too) as character designer, Arisa Okehazama as music composer, and Kisuke Koizumi as sound director. Nippon Animation is in charge of the animation production. The company previously worked on the production for the Araiguma Rascal series.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes:
- • Junya Enoki as Acacal
- • Taku Yashiro as Logical
- • Kensho Ono as Subcal
- • Yohei Azakami as Comical
- • Kenjiro Tsuda as Middle
The Araiguma Rascal franchise has been popular in Japan, inspiring various goods and LINE stamps in the country. The main character’s mascot also made costumed appearances at events. A Hatsune Miku figure that cradles Rascal in one of its arms was released last year.

Araiguma Calcal-dan follows the Calcal-dan — a secret society aiming to take over the world and is consistently ranked at the top of the world’s most popular companies. The main story follows the society’s Tokyo branch in Japan’s Tama region, which has low business performance and employees working without a raise. Despite this, each member of the branch strives to work better each day.
