The original yuri horror manga by Sai Naekawa began serialization in ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Maoh on August 27, 2020 and has released nine tankobon volumes as of October 2024.

Yen Press releases the manga in English and describes the main synopsis as:

Hinako, a high school student with a dark past, lives alone in a town by the sea. Haunted by a constant sensation of drowning, she can barely go through the motions of her tedious life…until the day a monster tries to eat her! After passing out in the struggle, she awakens to find she’s been rescued by a beautiful mermaid. However, salvation comes at a cost—the mermaid’s protection will last only until Hinako has matured into the perfect meal! Hinako’s first instinct isn’t to run or scream, though, and an unlikely relationship between monster and prey unfolds… “I’ve come to devour you.”

An anime adaptation of I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day was announced earlier this month, with Roll2 in charge of the animation production.

The anime’s main voice cast includes:

  • • Rie Takahashi as Sheena Totsuki
  • • Rina Hidaka as Mimi Kagari
  • • Asami Seto as Lizzy Seiran
  • • Yui Ishikawa as Ali Maud

Takudai Kakuchi (In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki) is directing the anime, with Jukki Hanada (Sound! Euphonium, Girls Band Cry) on series screenwriting and scriptwriting duties and Yasushi Tomoda (The Elusive Samurai Episode 7 director) as assistant director. Kyoko Yufu (Delicious Party Precure, Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles) is credited as character designer, while the music composer is Yukari Hashimoto (Zenshu, Komi Can’t Communicate).

The original dark fantasy yuri manga has been serialized in Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime since August 18, 2018. Seven tankobon volumes have been released as of February 2024, with an eighth volume set for release on March 17, 2025.

Kodansha USA releases the manga series in English, and describes the main premise as:

An orphanage for girls is actually a boot camp, turning out magical child soldiers for a gruesome war. Yet love finds a way to blossom amid bloodshed, in this dramatic, much-anticipated yuri manga that is spiritual kin to the likes of Revolutionary Girl Utena, Otherside Picnic, and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury.
