Publisher Gakken recently announced the June 26 JST release of MIA, a new art book featuring the illustrations of the late Mutsumi Inomata, who passed away last March. This is Inomata’s first posthumous art book.

Original illustrations of cats and girls are described as the focus of the 100-page softcover book. The included works range from drawings that are making their art book debut and relatively recent creation to promotional art and works and roughs that Inomata had been working on late in life. Some are popular illustrations that have been featured before in previous books.

MIA is priced at 2,860 yen (~US$19.39) with tax included. The page dimensions are 21 cm x 26 cm. Pre-orders began on March 10 JST.

Inomata drew the character designs for anime like 1983’s Plawres Sanshirou, 1985’s Leda: The Fantastic Adventure of Yohko, 1986’s Windaria, and 1998’s Tenjouhen: Utsunomiko.
