The official Twitter/X account of The Idolmaster Million Live! 3DCG TV anime series has announced that a new OVA is in production through an announcement video. Further details and information have not yet been revealed. 

It has been confirmed by the staff that Shinya Watada (Gundam Build Divers, The Idolmaster Million Live! “Seven Count” supervisor) is returning to direct the OVA after helming the TV series, with Yoichi Kato (Duel Masters LOST Tsuioku no Suisho) writing the scripts once again. Shirogumi is once again handling the animation production, as it did with the anime series. 

The Idolmaster Million Live! TV anime first aired in Japan on October 8, 2023 and concluded with 12 episodes on December 24, 2023. The series was previously released as a three-part previews film series, with the first part being screened in Japanese theaters from August 18, 2023 to September 7, 2023, the second part from September 8, 2023 to September 28, 2023, and the third part from September 29, 2023 to October 19, 2023. 

Meanwhile, the main voice cast for The Idolmaster Million Live! featured an expansive list of voice actresses, some of which included: 

  • • Haruka Yamazaki as Mirai Kasuga
  • • Azusa Tadokoro as Shizuka Mogami
  • • Machico as Tsubasa Ibuki
  • • Yuu Kahara as Emily Stewart
  • • Eri Inagawa as Tamaki Ogami
  • • Emi Hirayama as Reika Kitakami
  • • Sora Amamiya as Shiho Kitazawa
  • • Nao Tamura as Hinata Kinoshita

The 765PRO ALLSTARS (the group featured in the 2011 The Idolmaster anime series) also made an appearance in the series.

Bandai Namco Entertainment’s The Idolmaster (stylized as THE iDOLM@STER) multimedia franchise began in 2005 with an arcade game that was later ported to the Xbox 360 in 2007. It has spawned multiple games and anime, with the latter including series like 2007’s Idolmaster: Xenoglossia, 2011’s The Idolmaster, 2015’s The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, 2017’s The Idolmaster SideM, and Spring 2023’s The Idolmaster: U149. The most recent spinoff anime series, The Idolmaster Shiny Colors, aired for 24 episodes from April to December.
