A new One Piece animated short premiered during the Los Angeles Lakers’ game night with the franchise on February 28, 2025. The short was shown during the Laker’s basketball game against the Los Angeles Clippers and was posted on the One Piece English YouTube channel afterwards.
The short features Monkey D. Luffy playing a 1-on-4 basketball game against members of the Mariners team from the anime series. It ends with a huge dunk from Luffy over his opponents.
Fans who attended the One Piece-themed game night received a limited-edition T-shirt and poster. Other experiences included a “One Piece Bounty Rush” photo booth and special on-court game experiences for randomly selected fans.
The One Piece franchise has collaborated with a variety of different brands these past few months, including recently with the Boston Red Sox, Universal Studios Hollywood, LEGO, and more.
