The ongoing medical mystery TV anime series Ameku M.D.: Doctor Detective has released a new visual for the seventh episode, as well a short preview for next week’s eighth episode “The Night When The Angels Danced (Part 1).” The series first aired in Japan on January 2, 2025.
Kazuya Iwata (7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy!) is directing the anime series, with Satoru Sugisawa (Why Does Nobody Remember Me in this World?) as series screenwriter and co-scriptwriter, Yuka Takashina (Ishura co-character designer) as character designer, and Tomoyuki Harada as medical supervisor. Project No.9 is in charge of the animation production.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast stars:

The TV anime adaptation is based on the novel series written by novelist and real-life physician Mikito Chinen and illustrated by Noizi Ito, with the first two episodes having original material written by Chinen. The anime’s fourth episode was recently delayed until January 22, 2025 in Japan.
The first Ameku Takao book was released by Shinchosha on September 29, 2014, and released 13 volumes under the publisher until August 2022. In October 2023, Jitsugyo no Nihonsha announced that it would be releasing three new volumes and 13 kanzenban volumes across seven consecutive months. A total of 16 new edition volumes have been published as of August 2022. Another new entry, Entrapped in the Poisoned Prison: Ameku Takao’s Crime Karte, was released in October 2024 to commemorate the series’ 10th anniversary.
A manga adaptation drawn by Hiroki Ohara ran from 2016 to 2018 and was collected into four tankoubon volumes. Another manga adaptation published by Kodansha titled the Angel of Death in the Sphere volume by Eri Takanashi began in 2024.
