Anime director and Science SARU co-founder Masaaki Yuasa (Inu-Oh, Devilman Crybaby, Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!, Ping-Pong the Animation) has established ame pippin, a new anime studio that “will be a place for new opportunities and a fresh creative environment.”
“As a collective, we will make steady progress, maintain quick turnarounds and flexibility, and foster joy in creativity.The next chapter of film and media entertainment starts here!” reads a message on ame pippin’s website.
News of ame pippin’s establishment was first reported by Variety, who writes that the studio is based in Tokyo. It also shared the following statement from Yuasa:
“We are pleased to announce the establishment of a new studio in collaboration with Asmik Ace, Aniplex, and CoMix Wave Films. In this era of dramatic change, we hope to move forward with a steady yet flexible approach, always keeping the future in sight. We deeply appreciate your guidance and support, and we would be truly grateful for any opportunity to collaborate with you.”
According to Variety, CoMix Wave Films is contributing its “expertise in animated movie production and distribution to the partnership.”
Asmik Ace is a company whose areas of business include the investment and distribution of motion pictures.
