The official YouTube channel for the ongoing Sorairo Utility TV anime series has posted the first episode of a mini-anime crossover with the original golf anime Birdie Wing -Golf Girls’ Story- this week. The second part was also released today on February 13, 2025.

Sorairo Utility first aired in Japan on January 3, 2025 and is expected to run for 12 total episodes. Bandai Namco Pictures’ Birdie Wing anime series aired for two split cours from April 2, 2022 to June 24, 2023.
Kengo Saito (Sorairo Utility short, Arknights Anime PV Full Version) is directing the Sorairo Utility anime series and serving as character designer. Other staff include Yu Sato (The Legendary Hero Is Dead) as series screenwriter and co-scriptwriter, Kota Nozomi (Sorairo Utility short writer) as original concept cooperation, Hitoki Takeda (Gridman Universe) as color designer, Yoshitaka Kudo (The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess assistant background art director) as background art director, and Wu Jiann-horng (Selection Project) as compositing director. Yostar Pictures is in charge of the animation production.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes Miyu Takagi as Minami Aoba, Yurina Amami as Haruka Akane, and Ayasa Gotou as Ayaka Hoshimi.
Sorairo Utility originally began as a short with storyboards by Akira Amemiya (Gridman Universe director). It premiered in Japan on December 31, 2021.
The TV anime series is streaming overseas on HIDIVE, ADN, Aniverse, and more services.
Pony Canyon describes the main synopsis of Sorairo Utility as:
Minami Aoba was troubled. She had no particular strengths or things she wanted to do. Is it okay for her high school life to end as such an ordinary supporting character!? Leaving school behind, Minami searches for her own “special uniqueness.”
She stumbles upon the nearby golf practice range by chance. Approached by part-time worker Haruka Akane, Minami grasps the golf club — the “utility.” And thus, it was the encounter between Minami and golf.
Winning is not the only thing in golf! Everything related to golf is enjoyable! Together with the genius golfer Haruka and Ayaka Hoshimi, who aspires to be an influencer, they seek the moment when they can become the “protagonist”! As a super beginner, Minami swings her club once again today.
