Two new cast members are joining the upcoming The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei: He Just Solves All the Mysteries TV anime series. A new ending theme song and theme song artist have also been announced for the series, which will premiere in Japan in April 2025.
The new cast members include Ai Furihata as Atsuko Chuzenji, the younger sister of Akihiko Chuzenji, and Ai Kayano as Chizuko Chuzenji, Akihiko’s wife.
They join previously announced voice cast members that include:
- • Kaori Maeda as Kanna Kusakabe
- • Katsuyuki Konishi as Akihiko Chuzenji
- • Shinnosuke Tachibana as Reijiro Enokizu
- • Shuya Nishiji as Takuboku Sekiguchi
- • Takanori Hoshino as Shutaro Kiba
Meanwhile, the ending theme song is “Kimi no Shiranai Koto” by Japanese music artist Sizuk.
Chihiro Kumano (Unnamed Memory assistant director) is directing the anime series, with Atsushi Oka (Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie co-scriptwriter) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, and Masahiko Suzuki (Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs) as character designer. 100studio is handling the animation production.
The anime is based on the school mystery manga by Aki Shimizu, which was first launched in Kodansha’s Shonen Magazine Edge on October 17, 2019 and has released 10 tankobon volumes as of October 2024. The series then transferred to the Comic Days website on December 20, 2023 after Shonen Magazine Edge ceased publication on October 17, 2023.
Shimizu’s manga is a spinoff and prequel manga to Natsuhiko Kyougoku’s Hyakki Yakou novel series.

Pony Canyon describes the synopsis of The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei as:
This story takes place before the exorcist Kyogokudo opened up a used bookstore… Our setting is in Tokyo in 1948, just right after the war.
Kanna Kusakabe had just become a second-year at a high school when she meets the new language teacher, Akihiko Chuzenji. Mysterious supernatural things keep happening around Kanna. Once again today, Kanna is going to open the doors to the library prep room to seek help from the surly Chuzenji-sensei who is waiting inside.
A high school supernatural mystery featuring the unlikely duo between a teacher and a high school girl is about to begin!
