Earlier this month, Pony Canyon released a video highlighting the global screenings for the Übel Blatt anime, which had its premiere on January 11 JST and is being streamed worldwide on Prime Video.

The global screenings were hosted at Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2024 (November 29, 2024), Anime x Game Festival Korea (December 2024), and Tokyo (December 15).

Übel Blatt is based on the Square Enix-published dark fantasy by Etorouji Shiono, which ran from 2004 to 2019 and is collected into 24 tankoubon volumes, with the first being numbered as volume “0”. Manga Up describes the plot as:

After twenty long years in the dark, the time has come for a confrontation with Glenn, one of the Seven Heroes!

Hatred…envy…confusion…Koinzell’s heart overflows with emotion as he moves singularly toward his revenge, blade in hand! But it only takes an instant for the situation to take an unexpected turn…

The manga was serialized in Gangan YG at first but was a Monthly Big Gangan title at the end of its run. Monthly Big Gangan is also where the sequel, titled Ubel Blatt II: The Knights of the Deceased King, is running in.
