A short TV anime adaptation of the Nmeneko manga series has been scheduled to premiere in Japan in April 2025, with a new key visual, trailer, staff, and voice cast being released as well. The series will broadcast on the Tokyo Broadcasting System.

The short anime’s main voice cast stars Megumi Han as the titular Nmeneko and Hiro Shimono as Usukuro.
Tommy Hino (Pastel Life, Crane Game Girls) is directing the anime series at animation studio Kumarba, with Hideaki Shirasaka (Mayonaka Punch) writing the screenplay and scripts.
The original manga by Shirimoto was posted on their X/Twitter account, with some posts amassing over 1 million impressions.
Nmeneko follows the funny and amusing daily lives of two cats who want to live their life doing only fun things. Nmeneko is a carefree cat that only wants to eat delicious food and take part in amusing activities, while Usukuro is a more level-headed, responsible cat friend.
