The Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister romance anime has begun its second cour, which comes with a new opening animation storyboarded and unit directed by Umamusume: Beginning of a New Era director Ken Yamamoto. The creditless version of the opening (which features the song “Pray Pray Pray” by the Amagami Sisters) is available on the KING AMUSEMENT CREATIVE YouTube channel.

Yamamoto previously contributed the ending animation for Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister’s first cour. Like that earlier effort, the second Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister opening sequence features likeable character animation with a dash of enchanting character stills.

Some cute aspects that highlight protagonist Uryu Kamihate’s relationship with the Amagami sisters are also featured. For the chorus, Yamamoto unleashes a rotating camera sequence that smoothly swaps one Amagami sister for another with its match cuts, with the transitions also pulling the environment from day into dusk, and then into night.

Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister first premiered on October 2, 2024 JST (effectively October 3 at 12 AM JST), while the second cour started on January 14, 2025 JST (effectively January 15 at 12 AM JST). The anime is based on the Kodansha-published romantic comedy manga by Marcey Naito, which was originally a one-shot that was released in Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2020. Kodansha USA describes the manga as:

Uryu Kamihate has had a rough start to life, but plans to forget it all by achieving his dream-matriculating into medical school. But when he arrives at his new foster home, a working shrine, his dream of a quiet place to study goes up in smoke. Not only will he be living with the three beautiful, lively Amagami sisters-but he learns that he must marry one of them and take over the shrine!

The manga started serialization in 2021 and has 17 tankoubon volumes as of October 2024. The anime is streaming on Crunchyroll and Bilibili.
