GONZO has released a New Year’s message from CEO Shinichiro Ishikawa, which mentions that two new TV series are in development and will premiere in 2025 and 2026.

“We are currently in the midst of developing two new TV series, set to premiere within this year and next!” is the exact wording.

The message also asked fans to “look forward to our upcoming announcements.”

GONZO’s TV anime output dropped off after 2019, barring the 2020 second season of 7SEEDS that was co-produced with Studio KAI. In 2021, it announced the NFT project SAMURAI cryptos, with Ishikawa saying at the time that the “concept of NFT opens a new era of anime.” The project is still alive as of 2024.

Last October, Variety broke the news that GONZO was teaming up with “afro-anime”-focused multimedia company N LITE and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse co-director Peter Ramsey for a “live-action/anime hybrid feature” and an anime series.

Past works that were produced at GONZO pre-2010 include Blue Submarine No.6, Fullmetal Panic!, Kaleido Star, Last Exile, GANTZ, Samurai7, Black Cat, Pumpkin Scissors, Bokurano, Red Garden, The Tower of DRUAGA, and Shangri-La

The studio’s 2010s productions include A Town Where You Live, Blade & Soul, AOKANA: Four Rhythm Across the Blue, Akiba’s Trip The Animation, Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits, CONCEPTION, Try Knights, and Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode Oracle

A second season of Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits was announced in April 2024 and is set to premiere in the Fall 2025 anime season. However, its animation production studio has not yet been revealed.
