Voice actor Fairouz Ai and her agency Raccoon Dog have announced that a portion of her activities will be restricted as she focuses on recovering from PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder).
In her announcement, the Jolyne Cujoh voice actor revealed that her PTSD manifested several months ago, and that she had kept going on at that time due to a desire to meet the expectations and support she received. As of now, Fairouz Ai’s focus is on getting better. Raccoon Dog’s statement added that the decision to prioritize recovery was made in accordance with the guidance of her doctor.
Fairouz Ai kept the reason for her PTSD undisclosed and requested that people refrain from prying into it or making speculations.
Towards the end of her statement, Fairouz Ai said that she was filled with contrition and frustration at the worry and trouble she had caused to production staff and her fans. She added that she wanted to strive to bounce back mentally and physically so that she can once again stand before everyone as her usual energetic self.
Fairouz Ai is part of the main cast of the Winter 2025 anime OKITSURA: Fell in Love with an Okinawan Girl and I’m Living with an Otaku NEET Kunoichi!? She is also starring in the upcoming Magical Girl Raising Project: Restart and returning as Power for 2025’s Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc.
Fairouz Ai is likely reprising her role as Kikoru Shinomiya for the second season of Kaiju No.8, also due in 2025, and as Liz Smart in the recently announced Let This Grieving Soul Retire sequel as well.
