One Piece voice actress Mayumi Tanaka is joining the cast of the upcoming new Me & Roboco anime film as a variant Roboco from another world. The film is scheduled for release in Japan on April 18, 2025.

A character visual and short announcement video of the variant Roboco character were also released during Jump Festa 2025. The variant character bears some resemblance to Tanaka’s other iconic voice role, Luffy from One Piece. The film’s story will feature a “multiverse” storyline that will follow several Roboco characters from a “straightforward battle world line.”

Other staff include Manami Koyama (Don’t Hurt Me, My Healer) as art director, Ayami Minowa (Yu-Gi-Oh: VRAINS) as color designer, and Reina Tanimoto as director of photography.
