The new cast members include Megumi Han as Anko-chan (left) and Misaki Kuno as Usame-chan (right). They join Kana Hanazawa as the titular protagonist, Kozame-chan, who serves as the trailer’s narrator.

Chihiro Kumano (The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei) is directing the new film, with Hiroaki Nagashima as screenwriter and scriptwriter (who was the scriptwriter for the short anime series), Ayumi Takeuchi (My Happy Marriage key animation) as character designer, Kisuke Koizumi (My Happy Marriage) as sound director, and Yoshiaki Fujisawa (Love Live! Superstar!!) as music composer. ENGI is in charge of the film’s animation production after working on the short series.

All 60 episodes of the web anime series are available on YouTube with English subtitles.

The short anime is based on a digital manga series by Penguin Box, which was first uploaded on their Twitter in June 2021. It was later published in Enterbrain’s Aokishi magazine on October 20, 2021 under the Kitora imprint. Five tankobon volumes have been released as of June 2024, with a sixth volume set for release on December 24, 2024.

The Little Shark’s Day Out anime film will once again follow Kozame-chan, as she makes a trip to the city after being dazzled by a glittering poster of it in front of the train station. Kozame-chan boards the train and travels to the bright, noisy, crowded city to embark on another big adventure.
