The OneRoom series is getting an animated visual novel titled OneRoom -Hanasaka Yui Memorial-. It was also announced that a follow-up anime will be produced.

Steam describes OneRoom -Hanasaka Yui Memorial- as an “immersive animated novel game where you can experience the story of Yui Hanasaka, the main heroine of the popular short anime series OneRoom, from the protagonist’s point of view.” It will allow players to “revisit the story from the second season and experience the third season’s events” across 15 to 20 minutes. The release date for OneRoom -Hanasaka Yui Memorial- is January 11, 2025 JST, matching the premiere date of the first OneRoom anime season.

For the new anime, it is being produced by the newly established STUDIO OneRoom. The anime falls under the a new project called PROJECT OneLeaf, which includes plans for new content based on the concept of “Creating with the fans,” with these including new forms of announcement methods and user participation. The staff of OneRoom are said to be involved with PROJECT OneLeaf.

OneRoom‘s first season begin airing in 2017, with Season 2 and 3 following in 2018 and 2020, respectively. Crunchyroll describes the series as:

You are the protagonist. A new project in virtual anime from SMIRAL Animation that also brought you the “Anitore” series and “Makuranodanshi.” This time, the project is about 3 stories that develop in your (one) room.

A cohabitation-themed sister anime with male characters titled Room Mate also premiered in 2017.

The original character designs for OneRoom were created by illustrator Kantoku. SMIRAL was credited as the creator for Season 1 and 2, while Season 3 listed Eiji Mano, the story draft writer for the previous seasons, under that role.
