The Evangelion franchise is set to collaborate with McDonald’s Japan. The latter teased the upcoming team-up with an image of the word yokoku, depicted as it was in Neon Genesis Evangelion‘s next episode previews.

Details about the collaboration haven’t been released, and the room for speculation has lead to various memes and other funny responses from Japanese X (formerly Twitter) users. One user replied with an image, loosely based on the format of Neon Genesis Evangelion‘s episode number and title presentation, that said: “Episode 1 All items, half-price.”

Another riffed off the anime’s first episode title directly, turning “Angel Attack” into “Donald Attack” (Ronald McDonald is named Donald McDonald in Japan).

The McDonald’s Japan and Evangelion collaboration will likely involve several burger types and one or more animated ads. That was the case for previous collaborations with anime like Detective Conan/Case Closed and One Piece, as well as Mobile Suit Gundam‘s Char Aznable. The burgers probably won’t be the size of Lotteria’s massive nine-patty Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo cheeseburger (the movie’s Japanese title contains the letter “Q,” which rhymes with “9” in Japanese), though.
