One-Punch Man adapts the Shueisha-published manga drawn by Yuusuke Murata and serialized on Tonari no Young Jump. The manga began in 2012 and has been collected into 32 tankoubon volumes as of November 2024. Viz Media describes the plot as:
Every time a promising villain appears, Saitama beats the snot out of ’em with one punch! Can he finally find an opponent who can go toe-to-toe with him and give his life some meaning? Or is he doomed to a life of superpowered boredom?
The first season of the anime, directed by Shingo Natsume and produced by Madhouse, premiered in 2015. The second season followed in 2019 and was directed by Chikara Sakurai at J.C.STAFF.
One-Punch Man was originally created as a self-published web manga by ONE in 2009.
