The production and 2025 premiere of Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show, a new VR game-themed original anime, has been announced.
The premise involves middle school graduate and streamer Miko aka Necronomico (Riho Sugiyama), childhood friend Mayu (Manaka Iwami), and rival Kanna (newcomer Nana Hazumi) coming across a new VR game. Masato Matsune (The Stories of Girls Who Couldn’t Be Magicians) is directing the anime at Studio Gokumi.
Other staff credits for Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show include Makoto Uezu (KonoSuba) as story draft writer and series composer, Jiro Suzuki (Revenger co-original character designer, Umineko no Naku Koro ni: ) as original character designer, and Evan Call (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End) as music composer.
