The Chinese animation To Be Hero X will begin airing in Japan in April 2025.

It was also revealed that the show’s opening theme song is “INERTIA” by SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Rei, while the ending song is “KONTINUUM” by SennaRin. Additionally, the opening animation was released on Aniplex’ YouTube channel.

To Be Hero X is the follow-up to To Be Hero and To Be Heroine, which aired in Japan in 2016 and 2018, respectively. The premise involves a biannual superhero tournament that determines a hero’s rank, with the top-ranking hero having the moniker of “X.” In this world, belief is what provides a hero with their power, and belief is also compiled as data that is used for the hero ranking.

Crunchyroll will simulcast the series, and also has its predecessors on its platform.

Creator Haolin is returning to the director’s seat for the new show, which is produced by BeDream. BeDream is also involved with the planning and business side of the production with bilibili and Aniplex.
