A teaser visual and April 2025 premiere window have been revealed for the Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc anime.
It was also revealed that Rie Kugimiya and Chikahiro Kobayashi will be voicing the characters Sieglinde Sullivan and Herr Wolfram, respectively.
Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc was announced in July and has been picked up by Crunchyroll. It was revealed after the end of Black Butler: Public School Arc, which aired during the Spring 2024 anime season. Public School Arc was the first new Black Butler anime since 2017’s Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic movie.
Black Butler is based on the Square Enix-published dark fantasy manga by Yana Toboso. The Monthly G Fantasy-serialized manga began in 2006 and has 34 tankoubon volumes as of April 2024. Yen Press describes the manga as:
Just a stone’s throw from London lies the manor house of the illustrious Phantomhive earldom, its master one Ciel Phantomhive. Earl Phantomhive is a giant in the world of commerce, Queen Victoria’s faithful servant . . . and a slip of a twelve-year old boy. Fortunately, his loyal butler, Sebastian, is ever at his side, ready to carry out the young master’s wishes. And whether Sebastian is called to save a dinner party gone awry or probe the dark secrets of London’s underbelly, there is practically nothing Sebastian cannot do. In fact, one might even say Sebastian is too good to be true . . . or at least, he is too good to be human .
The first season premiered in 2008 and was followed by two more seasons and a two-episode OVA. The Black Butler anime prior to Public School Arc were produced by A-1 Pictures.
