A new PV trailer and two more cast members have been revealed for the upcoming Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time TV anime series, which will begin streaming in Japan early on January 1, 2024 on the d Anime Store and the ABEMA streaming service. Regular television broadcasting will begin on January 8, 2024.
The new trailer confirmed the addition of Nobuo Tobita as Papek and Kikuko Inoue as Mulan. They join a main voice cast that includes:
- • Shogo Sakata as Takumi Iruma
- • Ai Kayano as Sophia Sylpheed
- • Nao Toyama as Maria
- • Afumi Hashi as Kaede
- • Sora Amamiya as Goddess Norn
- • Nene Hieda as Reyva
- • Moeka Koizumi as Mani
The trailer also previewed the anime’s main theme songs. The opening theme is “TREASURE!” by voice actress artist unit DIALOGUE+ (of which Hieda is a member) and the ending theme is “Twinkle Days” by voice actor unit harmoe (of which Koizumi is a member).
Naoyuki Kuzuya (Bikini Warriors) is directing the anime series, with Mitsutaka Hirota (Rent-A-Girlfriend) as series screenwriter, Sayaka Anezaki (Tohai – Ura Rate Mahjong Tohai Roku) as character designer, and Hiroshi Nakamura (Sweet Reincarnation) as music composer. Studio Comet is handling the animation production.
The anime is based on the isekai light novel series written by Kogitsunemaru and illustrated by Hitogome, which was first published on February 28, 2018 and has released 16 volumes as of May 2024.
A manga adaptation drawn by Taro Sasakama was released in August 2018, and is released in English under Alpha Manga, which describes the series as:
