Four new voice cast members are joining the upcoming I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons TV anime series. The anime is scheduled to premiere in Japan on January 5, 2025.
The additional cast members joining the series include:

They join a main voice cast that stars:
- • Haruka Shiraishi as Leticia
- • Jun Fukuyama as Clarke
- • Wataru Hatano as Nadir
- • Yuka Saito as Brianna
Shinobu Tagashira (Junji Ito Collection) is directing the anime adaptation and serving as character designer, with Tomoco Kanemaki (author of various Kingdom Hearts novels) as series screenwriter, and Naoyuki Chikatani (Beast Tamer) and Yuki Hayashi (Blue Miburo) as music composers. EMT Squared is in charge of the animation production for the series.
The anime is based on the light novel series by Izumi Sawano, which was published under Shufu to Seikatsusha’s PASH Books label from April 26, 2019 to March 27, 2020. Two volumes have been released as of March 2020. Mill Yumezaki illustrated the first two volumes of the light novels, while Uri Sugata took over as illustrator from the third volume onwards.
Sugata is also the manga adaptation’s main artist, which was first launched in March 2020. Six tankobon volumes have been released as of December 2024. Seven Seas Entertainment releases the manga in English. The series was first published as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro from August 12, 2018 to May 11, 2019.
J-Novel Club licensed the I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons light novels and manga for digital release in English. It describes the synopsis of the former as:
Duchess Leticia Dorman has been betrothed to Crown Prince Clarke since age seven. She was once a rambunctious and free-spirited child, but the strict education she’s receiving to make her a fit future princess has really put a cramp in her lifestyle. Her only hope is that the prince might someday take an interest in someone else — so when Clarke shows up to a royal ball with an unknown woman at his side, Lettie is overcome with delight, presuming her dream has come true and her engagement has been broken off! She wastes no time retreating to an easygoing countryside life, but her newfound peace is cut short when the prince shows up and claims she’s still his fiancée! Clarke is determined to win Lettie over and marry her, while Lettie is determined to resist his charms and escape! Who will emerge victorious in this heart-pounding battle of wills?
