The event will feature a ticketed space called the Museum Area, which showcase immersive exhibits that recreate iconic manga scenes and audio guides narrated by Himmel’s voice actor, Nobuhiko Okamoto. Okamoto’s narration will only be available in Japanese, while a different narrator will be used for the English version.
The online event will also include a central square within a virtual world that has many interactive features for fans. They consist of personalized profiles, photo spots, and a manga panel lottery to win exclusive designs.
Fans will also be able to leave messages to original author Kanehito Yamada and illustrator Tsukasa Abe, and be involved in creative activities like placing virtual statues of Himmel using an AR camera, creating and submitting Frieren-inspired fan art, and designing imaginative spells. Selected works will be featured in the virtual space.
A smartphone or PC that has an interactive connection and S-PACE account are needed to access the Frieren Online Festival. Basic access is free, while a ticket option will cost 1,650JPY (US$10.98), excluding tax. Ticket holders will have exclusive benefits such as: access to the Museum Area (“Current Journey” opens December 4, while “Past Journey” opens December 25), custom avatars, icons, nameplates, backgrounds, audio guides, and additional treasures.
