Four more new voice cast members have been added for the ongoing Let This Grieving Soul Retire! TV anime series. The new characters will debut in the anime’s 10th episode on December 3, 2024. 

The new cast members joining the series include: 

  • • Haruka Shiraishi as Lapis Fulgor
  • • Yu Serizawa as Kris Argent
  • • Satomi Amano as Chloe Welter
  • • Hana Hishikawa as Éclair Gladis

They join a main voice cast that stars:

  • • Kensho Ono as Krai
  • • Miyu Kubota as Tino
  • • Fairouz Ai as Liz Smart
  • • Konomi Kohara as Sitri Smart 
  • • Kohei Amasaki as Luke Sykol 
  • • Tomokazu Sugita as Ansem Smart and Narrator
  • • Aoi Koga as Lucia Rogier

Let This Grieving Soul Retire! first began streaming early in Japan on September 29, 2024 and was later released on TV on October 1, 2024. 

Masahiro Takata (The Family Circumstances of the Irregular Witch, The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World) is directing the anime series, with Hideki Shirane (The Duke of Death and His Maid, Date A Live Season 1 to 3) as screenwriter, and Yusuke Isochi (Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It) and Shingo Fujisaki (Skip and Loafer Episode 4 co-animation director, Undead Murder Farce Episode 3, 4, and 13 co-animation director) as character designers. ZERO-G is handling the animation production.  

The original light novel series is written by Tsukikage and illustrated by Chyko. It was first published by Micro Magazine’s GC Novels label on August 30, 2018, with 12 volumes being released as of September 2024. J-Novel Club is releasing the light novel series in English digitally after Sol Press’ license for the series expired in 2021. 

The series began as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro on January 27, 2018 and has also inspired a manga by Rai Hebino in 2019. Yen Press releases the manga adaptation in English for North America.

Crunchyroll is streaming the anime worldwide, outside of Japan, and describes the main synopsis as: 

Six childhood friends make a vow one day to become treasure hunters, and eventually grow to be the strongest heroes in the world. During his first quest, Krai Andrey realizes he isn’t cut out for the job. Even so, his friends make him their leader. Underpowered in the face of great expectations, Krai embarks on a reluctant hero’s tale of glory, headaches, and wanting to retire early.
