A new key visual, PV trailer, and four more cast members have been revealed for the ongoing Demon Lord 2099 TV anime series, which highlights the upcoming “Akihabara Arc” that will begin with the eighth episode. The anime first premiered in Japan on October 13, 2024 and will run for 12 episodes.

The additional new cast members include:

They join a main cast that stars:

- • Masaya Matsukaze as Marcus
- • Shizuka Ito as Kinohara
Ryo Ando (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury assistant director) is directing the anime, with Yuichiro Momose (The Witch and the Beast) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, Ryosuke Tanigawa (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Climax co-main animator) and Sodai Suwa (Chillin’ in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers) as character designer, and Tatsuya Kato (Yohane the Parhelion: Sunshine in the Mirror) as music composer. J.C.STAFF is in charge of the animation production for the series.
The anime is based on the light novels written by Daigo Murasaki and illustrated by Kureta, and was first published by Fujimi Shobo’s Fantasia Bunko imprint on January 20, 2021. Four volumes have been released as of October 2024, with a fifth volume set for release on November 10, 2024. The series also won in the 33rd Fantasia Award’s Alternate Dimension category.
The light novels also inspired two manga adaptations, with the first one by Kiiro Akashiro running from November 5, 2021 to June 24, 2022. A second manga adaptation by Yutaka Sakurai began serialization on Shonen Ace Plus on March 22, 2023. Yen Press releases the light novel series in English.

Five centuries ago, Demon Lord Veltol reigned over an immortal nation. Now, the time has come for him to awaken once again. The year is 2099, and civilization has reached peak evolution, leading to a high-tech landscape with towering skyscrapers—nothing like he’s conquered before. Veltol may be a relic of the past, but make no mistake, this new world will be his for the taking!
