A teaser trailer and main visual for next year’s Dr. Stone: Science Future have been released.
It was also announced that Kenji Nojima and Koji Yusa will be playing the roles of Dr. Xeno and Stanley Snyder, respectively, in the fourth and final Dr. Stone season.
Dr. Stone: Science Future will premiere in January 2025 and run for three split cours. The anime adapts the Shueisha-published manga written by Riichiro Inagaki and drawn by Boichi, which ran from 2017 to 2022 in Weekly Shonen Jump and has 26 tankoubon volumes. Viz Media describes the manga’s premise as:
One fateful day, all of humanity was petrified by a blinding flash of light. After several millennia, high schooler Taiju awakens and finds himself lost in a world of statues. However, he’s not alone! His science-loving friend Senku’s been up and running for a few months and he’s got a grand plan in mind—to kickstart civilization with the power of science!
The first season of the Dr. Stone anime started airing in 2019. The third season, Dr. Stone: New World, had the premiere of its first cour in April 2023, with the second cour debuting in October 2023. Crunchyroll, Bilibili, and iQIYI streamed New World overseas.
