Voice actors Yuki Ono and Kensho Ono have been added to the voice cast of the ongoing Blue Box TV anime series. The anime first premiered in Japan on October 3, 2024 and will air for 25 episodes.
Yuki Ono will be voicing Shota Hydo — a third-year at Sajikawa Senior High, and opponent of Haryu who has never bested in official matches.
Meanwhile, Kensho Ono plays Shuji Yusa, who is a first-year at Sajikawa Senior High and one of the best members on its badminton team.


They join a main voice cast that includes:
- • Shoya Chiba as Taiki Inomata
- • Reina Ueda as Chinatsu Kano
- • Akari Kito as Hina Chono
- • Chiaki Kobayashi as Kyo Kasahara
- • Yuma Uchida as Kengo Haryu
Yuichiro Yano (Lupin the 3rd Part 5) is directing the anime adaptation, with Yuko Kakihara (The Apothecary Diaries) as series screenwriter and Miho Tanino (Blue Thermal) as character designer. Telecom Animation Film is handling the animation production.
Netflix is streaming the anime weekly worldwide.
The anime is based on the manga series by Kouji Miura, which began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on April 12, 2021. Seventeen tankobon volumes have been published as of August 2024, with an 18th volume due out on December 4, 2024. The manga first debuted as a 2020 one-shot title.

Viz Media releases the Blue Box manga series in English, describing the main synopsis as:
Taiki admires Chinatsu from afar, but he doubts that she sees him in the same way. Yet somehow, he musters up the courage to tell her to never give up on her dreams! After such a bold declaration, will Taiki’s fleeting high school romance finally begin?
