Koei Tecmo has released an “Introduction” video for the Fairy Tail 2 RPG’s original story content and Character Stories, with the latter focusing on interactions between Fairy Tail characters in various scenarios.
While the promotional video delivers content like Jellal and a blushing Erza staring into each others’ eyes and Laxus seemingly kabedon-ing Gray, it doesn’t really explain what the original story is about. That’s where the game’s website comes in:
After clearing the main story, a new journey that spans across the sprawling world map, the “Key to the Unknown”, begins. All four of its chapters can only be experienced through this game-original story.

• Monster Chef is a mysterious monster who runs a restaurant in the forest. He is a romantic who lives for love, but a strange incident causes him to run amok. Can Lucy and her friends bring him back to his senses and get to the “treasure” in the restaurant?
• Gildarts, who has consumed a drink that “deepens your feelings for the person you love,” is even more concerned about Cana than usual, and searches for her from east to west. However, the seemingly foolish parental figure has deep feelings that only Gildarts and Cana can share… This is a story that also offers a glimpse into the feelings of each team member towards their “parents.”
• After the battle, we head over to Akane Beach… The “Key To The Unknown” arc, which takes place after the main story, includes an encounter with an unexpected character. Apparently, she is not the only member of Spriggan 12 visiting the beach…
Fairy Tail 2 is set to be released for Steam on December 11, 2024 and for PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch on December 13, 2024. Its main story will cover the Alvarez Empire Arc. You can check out my impressions of the Gust-developed game here.
