Two new cast members are joining the voice cast of the upcoming Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You TV anime adaptation. The anime will premiere in Japan in January 2025.
Yuichiro Umehara will be voicing Tougo Hoshikawa, while Kaori Nazuka will be voicing Manami Shiraishi.
They join a main voice cast that includes:
- • Sakura Shinfuku as Mizuho Nishino
- • Kazuki Ura as Kizuki Hazawa
- • Sion Yoshitaka as Shin Kashiwagi
- • Shoya Chiba as Airu Izumi
- • Satoshi Inomata as Shugo Hoshikawa
- • Yuto Uemura as Ryosuke Saito
- • Azusa Tadokoro as Chika Kurashiki
Meanwhile, the anime’s ending theme will be “Negaigoto” by Japanese rock band Marcy.
Junichi Yamamoto (More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers) is directing the series, with Yu Murai (Haigakura) and Nagisa Nario writing the screenplay and scripts, Io Shiiba as character designer, and Keiji Inai (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) as music composer. Typhoon Graphics is handling the animation production.
Other staff members include Katsuzo Hirata (Angel Beats!, Ben-To character designs) and Suzuna Okuyama (A Certain Magical Index II key animator) are sub-character designers, Atsushi Satomi (The Ryuo’s Work is Never Done!) as art director, Yasunori Ebina (Date A Live) as sound director, and Yuzuru Funakoshi (We Never Learn: BOKUBEN) as director of photography.
The original manga series by Haruka Mitsui began serialization in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine on November 2, 2020. Nine tankobon volumes have been released as of August 2024. Kodansha USA releases the manga in English for North America.
Crunchyroll will stream Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You outside of Japan, describing the main synopsis as:
It’s July 1, 2020. Mizuha, a high school second-year, is having the worst seventeenth birthday ever. She’s missing her chance to get close to the older student she admires, and her parents didn’t even remember that it’s her birthday. Worst of all, there’s a new and unknown infectious disease making the rounds, so all her club tournaments and school trips have been canceled.
She’s convinced that she’ll never have the dazzling youth that she’s always dreamed of… but then her childhood friend, Kizuki, suddenly declares himself a candidate to be her boyfriend.
This is a school youth story about four childhood friends who grew up like family, one being the heroine, Nishino Mizuha, and the four boys she grew up with whom she sees as family.
