A new Fairy Tail art book, titled Magnolia -Fairy Tail Illustrations 1+2+α-, is set to go on sale in Japan starting December 9 JST.

Described by the press release as a “definitive edition,” the A4-sized book contains the artwork from 2012’s Fantasia -Fairy Tail Illustrations- and 2016’s Harvest -Fairy Tail Illustrations 2-, plus more than 40 new illustrations. In total, there are over 400 pieces of art.

Magnolia -Fairy Tail Illustrations 1+2+α- will also feature commentary from Fairy Tail creator Hiro Mashima. It is priced at 5940 yen (~US$39) after tax.

The original manga was serialized from 2006 to 2017, but the Fairy Tail name remains current thanks to the ongoing Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest sequel manga and its recent anime adaptation, plus the upcoming Fairy Tail 2 RPG. When Anime Trending got the chance to get some questions answered by Mashima, he said, “Although the 100 Years Quest is a continuation of the original Fairy Tail, I approach it as more of a celebration — an opportunity to really enjoy the characters again.”
