The second Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Kanketsu-hen anime movie has received a painterly teaser visual, which depicts six of its characters gazing at an urban nightscape from an elevated viewpoint. A planned winter 2025 release date was also revealed.
The first installment of the Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Kanketsu-hen trilogy premiered in Japan on September 6 JST. It sees the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club receiving an invitation to the Idol GPX (Grand Prix), leading to Ayumu, Kasumi, Shizuku, Kanata, Ema, and Lanzhu heading off to Okinawa. The Idol GPX’s participants’ compete as individuals, and the idea of battling against her friends causes Ayumu to have conflicted feelings.
The movies are preceded by two TV anime seasons, which aired in 2020 and 2022, and a 2023 sequel OVA. Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club is one of the titles in the Love Live! multimedia franchise.

Nijigasaki High School is known for their diverse subjects and the freedom they give to students. Second-year student Yu Takasaki has been turned on to the charms of school idols, so she knocks on the door of the School Idol Club with her friend, Ayumu Uehara. Sometimes friends, sometimes rivals, the members of this club each contribute their own thoughts and motivations to the group.
Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club‘s starting cast was announced in 2017 as part of the now-defunct Love Live! School Idol Festival game’s PERFECT Dream Project anniversary project. The original voice of the character Setsuna Yuki, Tomori Kusunoki, left her role on March 31, 2023 JST due to medical reasons.
