Newtype and Crunchyroll News are teaming up to bring a special edition issue for this year’s upcoming New York Comic Con.
The U.S edition of the monthly Japanese magazine was last published in English in 2008. It will be available for free at New York Comic Con while supplies last, and features exclusive custom art for two highly anticipated anime titles, created by Madhouse, OLM, and Toho Animation Studio.
The front cover will be graced with brand-new art for Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom, which is coming to North American theaters in November 2024 by Crunchyroll.
Meanwhile, the back cover features custom art from The Apothecary Diaries, one of the most celebrated shows of the year both for its art and loving story.
The 16-page special edition issue will include exclusive anime art and interviews with staff members such as Naoyuki Ito, director of Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom, and Norihiro Naganuma, director of The Apothecary Diaries.
Attendees will be able to find them at the following locations:
- • The Crunchyroll booth — Javits Center (Booth 1643)
- • Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom Screening — AMC34, October 18 at 7:00 PM
- • Crunchyroll Industry Panel — Room 405, October 18 at 6:30 PM
- • Overlord Panel — Room 409, October 19 at 12:15 PM
Additionally, during the Overlord panel, a specially signed copy of the collaboration issue will be given away by Ito.
