March 19, 2025 JST has been announced as the release date for the SK8 the Infinity OVA. Also revealed are a third visual, a short commercial, its Extra Part subtitle, and its theatrical screening plans.
Regarding the latter, SK8 the Infinity Extra Part will be screened in 10 locations across Japan for a limited time, starting on January 24, 2025 JST. In addition to the OVA, the screening will include a “special” compilation of the anime’s first season and videos of the cast.
The SK8 the Infinity TV series premiered in 2021, with the OVA and a second season being announced in August 2022. The Bones original anime sees a transfer student being dragged into a downhill skateboard race called “S.”
Aniplex of America describes the show:
Reki, a high school sophomore and skater, is addicted to “S,” a highly secret and dangerous downhill skateboarding race that takes place in an abandoned mine. The skaters are especially wild about the “beefs,” or heated battles that erupt in the races.
Reki takes Langa, a transfer student returning to Japan after studying abroad, to the mine where the races are held. Langa, who has no skateboarding experience, finds himself pulled into the world of “S”…
Season 2 will see the return of director Hiroko Utsumi (Bucchigiri?!, Banana Fish, Free!), series composer Ichiro Okouchi, and character designer Michinori Chiba.
