The anime adaptation of Übel Blatt will have its world premiere at Anime Festival Asia Singapore on November 29, 2024 JST.

Yuya Hirose, who voices main protagonist Köinzell, and producer Yuki Watanabe will attend a talk panel, and a fan meeting with Hirose is also planned.

Übel Blatt is set to premiere in January 2025. It adapts the Square Enix-published dark fantasy by Etorouji Shiono, which ran from 2004 to 2019 and is collected into 24 tankoubon volumes, with the first being numbered as volume “0”.

Manga Up describes the plot as:

After twenty long years in the dark, the time has come for a confrontation with Glenn, one of the Seven Heroes!

Hatred…envy…confusion…Koinzell’s heart overflows with emotion as he moves singularly toward his revenge, blade in hand! But it only takes an instant for the situation to take an unexpected turn…

The manga was first serialized in Gangan YG but was a Monthly Big Gangan title by the time it ended. A sequel, Ubel Blatt II: The Knights of the Deceased King is running in Monthly Big Gangan.
