A new original illustration has been released for the Shirobako anime series to celebrate its 10th anniversary. The illustration was drawn by character designer Kanami Sekiguchi (Sakura Quest, Ya Boy Kongming!), who also served as chief animation director for the TV anime series and film.

Tsutomu Mizushima directed the anime series, with Michiko Yokote as the series composer, Shiroh Hamaguchi as music composer, and Ponkan8 as the original character designer. P.A. Works handled the animation production.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes:
- • Juri Kimura as Aoi Miyamori
- • Hakura Yoshimura as Ema Yasuhara
- • Haruka Chisuga as Shizuka Sakaki
- • Hitomi Owada as Midori Imai
- • Takano Asami as Misa Todo
Shirobako first premiered in Japan October 9, 2014 and concluded on March 26, 2015. A total of 24 episodes were aired. The anime previously streamed on Crunchyroll and is now available to watch on HIDIVE.
The anime series follows young production assistant Aoi Miyamori, who works at a fictional anime studio called Musashino Animations. The story centers on the daily office life and problems of the studio, as well as Miyamori’s friends, who are all working in different aspects of the anime industry.

Shirobako: The Movie premiered in Japan on February 29, 2020 and is currently available to stream on Crunchyroll.
Eleven Arts first screened the film in North American theaters in 2021. It describes the synopsis as:
Four years after the events of SHIROBAKO the series, Musashino Animation has gone through unprecedented changes and things are looking bleak for the studio. One day, Aoi Miyamori is offered a role managing a new theatrical animation project. With only a few months left before the deadline, can MusAni complete the project in its current state? It’s up to Aoi to work alongside both familiar faces and new to finish the project in time!
