The Gushing Over Magical Girls anime is returning for a second season. An announcement video has been released.
The first season of the steamy magical girl yuri comedy aired during the Winter 2024 anime season. It is based on the Takeshobo-published manga by Akihiro Ononaka, which began serialization on Storia Dash in 2019 and has 11 tankoubon volumes as of January 2024. J-Novel Club describes the Gushing Over Magical Girls manga as:
Hi, I’m Hiiragi Utena. I’m a normal magical-girl-loving middle school girl—or at least I was, but then some talking mascot showed up out of the blue and cast a spell on me! Now’s my chance to join my beloved magical girls as…a villain? Hang on, something’s wrong with my outfit! This can’t be happening! Watch this shy magical-girl fan transform into a sadistic dominatrix! When good and evil collide, who will be the one to submit?!
Gushing Over Magical Girls can be found on HiDive. Aside from the TV broadcast version, there is also the less censored “Akogare” version (AT-X and Animate Store-only) and the even less censored BD/DVD-exclusive “Chou Akogare” version.
