TOHO has revealed a new main trailer and key visual for the upcoming Pui Pui Molcar the Movie: MOLMAX 3DCG anime film, which will premiere in Japan on November 29, 2024.
Mankyu (The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague) will be directing the new CG anime film, with Yuko Kakihara (Buddy Daddies, Cells at Work!) writing the script and screenplay, and Tomoki Misato (Pui Pui Molcar season 1 director) serving as chief supervisor and original creator. TOHO NEXT is distributing the film.
The film features two new voice cast members who will be playing human characters in the film. Masaki Aiba will voice the CEO of the Many Many Eyes Company, while Akio Otsuka will voice Dodge’s driver.
The first season of Pui Pui Molcar aired in 2021, followed up with the second season Pui Pui Molcar Driving School in 2022. A compilation film of the first season was released in July 2021.
The series has inspired several merchandise, a Nintendo Switch video game, and several cross-franchise collaborations.
Netflix is streaming both seasons of Pui Pui Molcar, which describes the main synopsis as:
They’re guinea pigs! And they’re cars! The fuzzy and adorable molcars have lots of fun adventures in this delightful stop-motion animation.
