A Senpai is an Otokonoko anime movie has been announced, and it will premiere in Japan on February 14 JST.

A very brief announcement trailer for the film (subtitled Ame Nochi Hare), as well as a visual of Saki Aoi with Makoto Hanaoka and Ryuji Taiga reflected in her eyes, were also released.

The Senpai is an Otokonoko TV series started airing in Japan on July 4 (effectively July 5 at 12:55 AM JST). The anime adapts the LINE Digital Frontier-published manga by Pomu, which placed first in the 5th Manga We Want to See Animated Ranking and was the 2nd runner-up in the web category of Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taishou 2021. Webtoons describes the source material as:

Can true love really overcome any obstacles? Saki, a high school student, confesses her feelings to Makoto. Taken aback, Makoto reveals his secret, but the sudden discovery doesn’t seem to bother Saki who is already head over heels for him. After being rejected, Saki asks Ryuji, Makoto’s childhood friend, for some advice on how to win his heart. A love triangle unfolds when Ryuji realizes that he might also have some feelings for his old friend.

The Senpai is an Otokonoko manga was serialized on Line Manga from 2019 to 2021 and has nine tankoubon volumes from Ichijinsha as of July 2024. Crunchyroll streams the show.
